The Guitar Workshop Plus scholarship fund is made possible by the generous support of the following companies: Fishman, LR Baggs, Roland, and Guitar Workshop Plus. These companies value music education and support the Guitar Workshop Plus program so that students of all ages and backgrounds have the opportunity to attend our program and study with some of the finest musicians and educators in the music industry. A limited number of full and partial scholarships for all instruments are available. Awards are based on musicianship, reference letters, and financial need. All scholarship applications must be postmarked by April 30, 2024 and applicants will be notified no later than May 31, 2024 if they have received a scholarship. Scholarship applicants must follow the application process and payment schedule outlined on the Guitar Workshop Plus application form. Applicants who are awarded scholarships will be refunded the value of the scholarship. If for any reason a recipient is unable to accept the scholarship or attend, Guitar Workshop Plus must be notified in writing by June 10, 2024.

The Walter Tavares Scholarship Award

Walter Tavares was a long time member of the GWP administration and family sharing his passion for music, genuine caring for people, and huge heart at every GWP session he was a part of over the years. He believed wholeheartedly in what the GWP program offers, and the life-changing experiences and opportunities he saw the students have at the program. He was a dear friend, colleague, family man, and amazing father. Walt will forever be part of the GWP family and will be dearly missed. In Walt’s honour, we will award the Walter Tavares Scholarship Award annually.

Rick Courtemanche Scholarship Award:

Rick Courtemanche was a popular GWP faculty member amongst the students and his fellow instructors for many years. Rick was the kind of person who would always light up the room. He always had a positive energy and a smile on his face and had a warmth about him that simply made everyone feel great.  He will forever be a member of the GWP family and fondly remembered. In Rick’s honour, we will proudly award The Rick Courtemanche Scholarship Award to a deserving recipient annually.
